Garold Layne was born 9 April 1913 in Lewiston, Cache, Utah. His parents were Clarence Ellis Layne (1895-1954)and Zelnora Rebecca Glover (1892-1992). He married Doris Palmer, daughter of John Frank Palmer and Myrtle Gilbert, 6 March 1935 in Logan, Cache, Utah. They had nine children. Ancestors, descendants and relatives have lived mainly in Scotland, England, Utah, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois, Connecticut, New Jersey, Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

Includes Bybee, Kent, Standley, Horn, Glover, Snow, Hodges and other related families.
