Walter Charles Barnard was born in 1931 at Forest City, Iowa, the son of Walter Watson Barnard (1905-1955) and Margaret Lucy Groves Barnard (1906-1975). He married Ladonna Louis Maggard in 1953 at Creston, Iowa. They had five children, 1955-1963, born at Cedar Rapids and Marengo, Iowa, and St. Paul, Minnesota. He and his wife were living at Littleton, Colorado, in 1993. Children and grandchildren were living in Colorado and Minnesota. Ancestral families lived in England, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Indiana, Ohio and elsewhere.

Includes Barnard, Maggard, Howe, Kendall, Bacon, Wheeler, Aldis, Stanley, Staats, Fiske, Gould, Prichard, Blount and other related families.
