Abraham, son of Samuel Chadwick and Esther Consterdine, was born 30 March 1821 in Crab Lane, Blackley, Lancaster, England. He married Mary Burton in England in 1840 and both joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that same year. They immigrated to the U.S. in 1842 and settled in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1848, they moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa to join the Latter-day Saint exodus to the Great Basin. Mary died here in 1850, leaving him with four children. He married Mary Foxall a few months later, just prior to their departure to Utah where they arrived in 1851. They eventually settled in North Ogden. Abraham married Mary Wheeler, daughter of John Wheeler and Elizabeth Gillings, 22 May 1853 in Salt Lake City. They had twelve children. He married Mary Newby in 1893 with whom he had six children. Ancestors and descendants have lived in England, Missouri, Iowa, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, and elsewhere.
