Notes

The Kauffroth emigrant ancestor was Gerhart (J. Gottfried) Kafroth (1707-1796), who arrrived in Philadelphia on Sept. 17, 1753. He was a member of the Dutch Reformed Church. He settled in Cocalico Township near Ephrata in Lancaster Co., Pa. Jacob Sensiney, a Mennonite, and patriarch of the Sensenig family came to America between 1711 and 1717 from Switzerland. He met and married Maria Krey. George Sylvester Martin Kauffroth (1878-1955), son of George S. Kauffroth and Sarah Stephenson, married Lydia Sensenig (1878-1948), daughter of John Sensenig and Martha Jane Weaver.
