Family history and genealogical information about the descendants of William Cockerham who was the son of W. Cockerham and Alice Covell. William was born ca. 1593 in Purbeck, Dorsetshire, England. He married twice and immigrated to America sometime prior tohe year 1657. William was the father of three known children and died in the year 1669 in the state of Virginia. Descendants lived primarily in Virginia.

Includes inforation on the Byrd, Thornton and Tuttle families.
