Notes

These are the original lists which the commissioners of the revenue used to register births and deaths for the county and create the register books. They then turned over their lists and books to the clerk of the County Court. The clerk made abstracts to send to the state auditor and would also preserve the books in his office.

Contains original loose lists or register pages of births and deaths gathered by the commissioners of the revenue. Lists are arranged chronologically by year and sometimes has several lists for a year for each district. They give the same information as found in the registers of births and deaths.

Microfilm of original records at the Northumberland County Courthouse in Heathsville, Virginia.
