Marriage book may have copied information from marriage licenses.
Marriage book is alphabetical by the first letter of the groom's surname. Gives date of license, names of parties, date of marriage certificate and by whom married. Information is not always complete.
Marriage licenses are loose documents which contain handwritten licenses and those written on forms. Includes some parental consents. Licences on printed forms give names of parties, date of license, date and place of marriage, ages, marital status (single, widowed, or divorced), birthplaces, residences, parent's names, husband's occupation, and who performed the marriage. Later licenses include race. Handwritten licenses give much of the same information. Parental consents give names of parties being married and names of parents giving the consent.
