Canadian Immigration, Naturalization, and Citizenship

In this session, we will look at the history of naturalization and citizenship in Canada, how to locate records, and the steps to take to obtain copies of these records. We will also consult arrival manifests and border entry documents to see what clues they hold regarding a person’s citizenship status, and a recently digitized collection of name change notifications which speaks to the whole process of immigration, assimilation, and citizenship.
