Mrs. Myrtle Humes Riley, 84, of 2140 Mayo Road, died Saturday, November 8, 1997 at Columbia Hospital in Frankfort. Born December 18, 1912 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late James and Ida Mildred Smith Humes and the widow of J. L. Riley. She was a member of the Mt. Hebron Methodist Church. Survivors include: one step son, James Riley, Harrodsburg; one sister in law, Mrs. Bennie Humes, Harrodsburg; nine nephews and twelve nieces. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Irvin and Bennie Humes, and three sisters, Hester Robinson, Susie Smith and Bertha Humes. Funeral services were Monday, November 10, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. James Harley officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Hebron Methodist Church Cemetery with nephews serving as pallbearers.
