Yes. There is no membership or subscription fee to have a FamilySearch account. FamilySearch is an international, nonprofit organization that helps people discover their family story. Many volunteers and generous donors help FamilySearch on its mission to preserve the world's genealogical records.

Your personal and family information is never sold to other companies. Information about living family is kept private to you, while genealogy details of your deceased ancestors are shared with other researchers in the community Family Tree.

You will have access to a worldwide community family tree, access to over 12 billion searchable names, a place to build your family tree with the ability to add memories like photos, documents, and even audio recordings.

FamilySearch has over 5,700 local FamilySearch centers worldwide, a user community, and the FamilySearch Help Center. You can also contact FamilySearch directly, where a staff member can guide you to the right support.

FamilySearch started as the Genealogical Society of Utah in 1894. Since then, the name was changed to FamilySearch. With over 130 years of record gathering, we are passionate about helping you find your ancestors.
