International Blog Publisher and Editor Missionary
These missionaries help create inspiring experiences that bring joy to all Heavenly Father's children as they discover, gather, and connect to their families. In the Family History Department (FamilySearch), there is a great need to speak to God's children in their own languages. The FamilySearch content marketing team is looking for tech-savvy missionaries who can help us send articles for translation in more than 11 languages and publish translations on the FamilySearch blog.

Responsibilities
These missionaries help with a variety of projects. Here are some of the service opportunities that are available:
  • Prepare content for translation using basic HTML skills.
  • Publish translations using a WYSIWYG editor.
  • Take screenshots of the FamilySearch website in multiple languages, and save these images as organized image files.
  • Help work with representatives around the world to understand area needs.
  • Explore publishing language-first content, and help oversee related area initiatives.
  • Participate in weekly devotionals with other family history missionaries.


Qualifications
  • Organization skills and a detail-oriented mindset
  • At least a beginning-level knowledge of HTML or another coding language
  • Computer and phone savvy
  • Willing to help with crucial but repetitive tasks (such as taking and editing screenshots in various languages)
  • Experience preferred with a WYSIWYG editor such as WordPress, Blogspot, Brightspot, and so on
  • Comfort with recognizing differences between languages or willing to learn (for example, learning to recognize the difference between Chinese, Korean, and Japanese characters)
  • Some knowledge of a second language
  • A capable computer with high-speed internet access
  • Temple worthy
Time: 8+ hours per week with reliable consistency
