Add People to Family Tree through Automated Tools
Adding people to the FamilySearch family tree is a simple and engaging way to ensure everyone connected to a community can find their family's story. The Records Linking Lab (RLL) of Brigham Young University uses two tools to help identify individuals in records and add them to the FamilySearch family tree.

BYU RLL Map App
Use the BYU Records Linking Lab (RLL) "map app" to add people to the FamilySearch family tree through available record hints. Each record attached has the potential to add new people to the family tree. To get started, simply enter a county to see what records are available (surname is optional).

Goldie May
In collaboration with the BYU Record Linking Lab, you can volunteer your time to attach records from the 1900 and 1910 U.S. Censuses to FamilySearch Family Tree. Like indexing, this is an altruistic effort to improve the family tree for others, especially new users.
Install a free Chrome browser plugin to start adding people to the FamilySearch Family Tree through census record hints. Install the Goldie May plugin and select the "Volunteering" tab to get started.
Watch a short Goldie May video tutorial.
Please note that all FamilySearch activities will require a free account, which will also provide you with access to all FamilySearch features and services.
