This class is a basic course on birth, marriage and death records recorded through the civil registration system in England. It gives some introduction and background to the records, the kind of information found in them, and important things to know before beginning your search. It then covers searching for birth, marriage and death records in indexes and how to order certificates. Lastly, it contains some final considerations when certificates cannot be found.

This class covers the census records for England and Wales, 1841 through 1911. The class discusses what information is available in these census records, as well as hints and suggestions for census research.
