Congratulations, you have been selected to help test the CET feature on FamilySearch! A CET is a new, independent tree-building experience, offering the same powerful research tools, top-tier sources, and collaborative features found in Family Tree.

You can build and edit a CET on your own or invite trusted collaborators to participate with you.

Creating and managing your new CET

Uploading a GEDCOM file

Currently, a CET begins by uploading a GEDCOM file.

  1. Click the + UPLOAD GEDCOM button and select the GEDCOM file from your computer that you would like to upload.
  2. See Number 1 in the image to the right.
  3. You can close the window while the GEDCOM file is uploading. Depending on file size, this could take several hours to complete.

Accessing your CET

The email inviting you to test the CET feature included a link to the FamilySearch page where you can create your CET.

  1. To access your CET after that, click the CET tab at the top of the page after you sign in.
  2. See Number 2 in the image to the right.
