Where is the Get Involved mobile app available?

The Get Involved mobile app is currently available in the Apple and Google app stores to users in the United States, Latin America, Spain, and Portugal. Availability will expand as more records from more countries are indexed by a computer and made available for review. People who live in other countries are welcome to participate using the Get Involved web experience at https://www.familysearch.org/getinvolved/.

Introduction

The Get Involved app is a new volunteer experience designed to make volunteer opportunities more accessible to users of FamilySearch, as well as members of the public. It takes computer assisted index records from FamilySearch and lets the public aid in the verification of historical records. Though similar to web Indexing, the Get Involved app is not the same process.

Features of the Get Involved App

There are these parts to the Get Involved app:

  • A desktop landing page to introduce users to the app and provides links to download the app onto a smartphone.
  • A Get Involved desktop program on FamilySearch.org.
  • A Get Involved mobile app that can be downloaded for both Apple and Android devices.

  • FamilySearch Activities: Additional volunteer opportunities on FamilySearch.
  • You Are Not Alone (Join the Community): A link to the FamilySearch Community for additional help.

Community Help Group

There will be a support group for volunteers who participate in the Get Involved app. This support group will be a place to send feedback about the app and to receive additional assistance while using the Get Involved app. It can be found here: https://community.familysearch.org/en/group/283-participa

Please note that the link to the Community Support group for the Get Involved app is by invitation only.

Questions and Answers

Q: Do all the names in the image need to be finished before stopping?
A: No. Users can stop at any time.
Q: If the wrong option is chosen, can a user go back and correct their answer?
A: Yes. There is a feature that lets users go back to fix their answers.
