What are regional FamilySearch centers?

Regional FamilySearch centers have the same purpose as all FamilySearch centers but are larger and provide more resources and services, such as the following:

  • Discovery experiences, activities, and events.
  • Large staff of trained Church-service missionaries and volunteers.
  • Specialized reference assistance and more in-depth research training.
  • Multiple computer stations.
  • Longer hours than the average FamilySearch center.
  • Classes, workshops, and group activities.
  • Supplemental training for temple and family history consultants and staff of other FamilySearch centers.
  • Collections of books, maps, and other research materials.
  • A larger microfilm and microfiche collection.

The following are approved regional FamilySearch centers:

  • Idaho Falls, Idaho
  • Las Vegas, Nevada
  • Layton, Utah
  • Lehi, Utah
  • Logan, Utah
  • Los Angeles, California
  • Mesa, Arizona
  • Oakland, California
  • Ogden, Utah
  • Orange County, California
  • Pocatello, Idaho
  • Riverton, Utah
  • Sacramento, California
  • San Diego, California
  • St George, Utah
