Sometimes, you may find that the records being indexed on FamilySearch are already available on other websites. FamilySearch seeks to provide additional benefits to these records by indexing them, but you are welcome to view any records you find the most helpful to your research.

By indexing these records on FamilySearch, we hope to accomplish the following: 

  • Make the records available at no charge to the general public.
  • Provide greater access worldwide.
  • Create an accurate indexing. Volunteer participants review the indexed documents to check for errors and ensure accuracy.
