FamilySearch centers in North America can charge patrons for printouts and copies from Lexmark printers. The fees should cover the cost of the toner. A typical charge for color printers is 25 cents for a page and 10 or 15 cents for black and white.
When new toner cartridges ship to a FamilySearch center coordinator, the system bills the sponsoring stake.
Centers or stakes should not purchase toner from outside sources. The Lexmark toner FamilySearch purchases are Extra High Yield and provides more prints from each cartridge. The overall cost to centers is less than cartridges from other sources. Also, the cartridges must be Lexmark brand in order to maintain the 5-year warranty with Lexmark.
