I keep getting an internal server error message

The Internal server error message appears for several reasons:

  • Slow connection
  • Browser errors
  • System down issues
  • Account errors

If you see a server error message, such as, "Internal Server Error," "500 error," or "Unable to display pedigree," try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue.

Troubleshooting

  • Did you recently add your Church record number (CRN) to your FamilySearch or Church Account? If so, please contact FamilySearch Support.
  • Determine if the issue is browser-related or if it is a system-down situation. Try testing in other browsers.
  • Clear cookies or the cache and delete temporary files.
  • Run a speed test to check for a slow connection. Go to http://www.speedtest.net. If the download speed is less than 2.0 Mbps to 3.0 Mbps, contact your internet service provider.
  • If the issue persists, please contact FamilySearch Support.
