How to use the Cemeteries Search tool

FamilySearch has an ever-growing database of international cemeteries linked to the world's largest online family tree. Search by location, cemetery name, or name of a relative to find the final resting place of departed family members or another person of interest.

Cemeteries Search is at: https://www.familysearch.org/cemeteries

In the search bar, enter a location or cemetery to search for, and click Search. If you see the cemetery that you are looking for in the list below the search box, select it.

Once you are on the cemetery page, you can do the following:

  • Enter the name of an individual to search for in the Search for a specific person search bar.
  • To view famous people, click the Refine Search button. Or sort the list of names by first or last name in ascending or descending order.
  • To narrow the list of individuals in that cemetery to your relatives only, click the Only show my relatives button. The names must be in the FamilySearch Family Tree.
  • In the upper right of the cemetery page, you can share the cemetery page on social media sites. You can also generate an email, or click the link button to generate a QR code or easily copy the site link.
  • To open the Map View to locate additional cemetery sites nearby, on the left side, click Find a nearby site.
  • Also on the left side is an option to Find a different site, which takes you back to the original Cemeteries Search page.
