How do I specify callings in Leader and Clerk Resources (LCR)?

Ward and stake clerks use Leader and Clerk Resources (LCR) to specify who has Temple and Family History Callings.

You cannot update callings in the Member Tools app. For the most up-to-date information about Member Tools and Leader and Clerk Resources, please see the help that is available in each application.

When clerks enter callings correctly, Temple and Family History Consultants gain benefits:

  • Ward members can find and contact their Ward Temple and Family History Consultants from the FamilySearch Support Contact Us on FamilySearch. After signing in, click Find In-Person Help.
  • The Temple and Family History Leader and Temple and Family History Consultants can access resources:
    • Additional materials in the Helper Resources section of FamilySearch.
    • The option to receive a newsletter for people with family history callings.
    • Tools and communication they need for their callings.
    • Indexing and Get Involved Statistics in the Get Involved Report.

Steps (ChurchofJesusChrist.org)

Ward and branch clerks can specify callings at the branch or ward level. Stake or district clerks specify callings at the district or stake level.

  1. Go to ChurchofJesusChrist.org, and sign in. 
  2. In the top-right, click the square made of 9 dots.
  3. Click Leader and Clerk Resources. (If you see a beta testing notice, click Agree and Continue.)
  4. To add the calling by organization, follow these steps:
    1. Click Organizations.
    2. Click Temple and Family History.
    3. Click the correct calling.
      • Ward Temple and Family History Leader (a Melchizedek priesthood holder; this option is available only at the ward level)
      • Ward or Stake Temple and Family History Consultant
      • Indexing worker
      • Stake Temple and Family History Consultant—FamilySearch center. The calling is available only at the stake level. The member has access to tools and resources for managing a FamilySearch center).
    4. Click in the Member Name or CRN box, and either enter the member's name or Church Record Number.
    5. Click the correct person from the drop-down list.
    6. Enter the date sustained.
    7. Click the check box if the person was set apart.
    8. Click Save.
  5. To add the calling by person, follow these steps:
    1. Find the member's profile.
    2. Click Callings and Classes.
    3. Click Add Calling.
    4. Click in the Select an Organization box, and select Temple and Family History.
    5. Click the correct calling.
      • Ward Temple and Family History Leader (a Melchizedek priesthood holder; only at the ward level)
      • Ward or Stake Temple and Family History Consultant
      • Indexing worker
      • Stake Temple and Family History Consultant—FamilySearch center (available only at the stake level). The member has access to tools and resources for managing a FamilySearch center).
    6. Enter the date sustained.
    7. Click the check box if the person was set apart.
    8. Click Save.
