In Explore Historical Images, you can find 1950 US Census records for a specific enumeration district (ED).
Before you begin
- Multiple places can use the same enumeration district value. To get the best results, search for a specific county or state.
- The enumeration district search only works for the 1950 United States census.
Steps (website)
- On the main Explore Historical Images page, click More Options.
- In the Place field, enter the county and state in the United States. In the list that appears below the search box, click the standardized place.
- In the Date field, enter 1950. Click the standardized version.
- In the Record Type field, enter "Census" and click Census.
- In the Keyword field, enter the enumeration district within quotation marks. For example: "18-46"
- In the Creator field, enter "United States. Bureau of the Census". Include the uppercase letters and the period after "United States".
- Click Search.
