How do I create a FamilySearch account from a provider-only account?

  1. Click the provider link (Facebook, Google, Apple, or Church Account) and sign in to FamilySearch.
  2. In your profile, go to your settings.
  3. Go to the Account tab.
  4. Click Change My Password.
  5. Click Don’t know your current password.
  6. Select the recovery option.
  7. Check I do not remember my password.
  8. Click Ok.
  9. Add a password.

Note: The system creates a FamilySearch account. You can change your FamilySearch username in Settings if desired. You can also change the phone and email for the account.
