How do I correct the sex listed on a person's record in Family Tree?

Family Tree allows you to edit the sex of a person. 

If a person is linked to another person as a spouse or parent, you cannot set the sex as unspecified.

Steps (website)

  1. Navigate to the Person page of the individual for whom you want to correct the sex. 
  2. Click Details
  3. In the Vitals section, for the sex, click the Edit icon
  4. Click the correct sex. 
  5. Explain why your information is correct in the reason statement. If the existing reasoning is applicable, leave the existing explanation, and add your own comments. 
  6. Click Save.  

Steps (mobile app)

  1. Navigate to the Person page of the individual for whom you want to correct the sex. 
  2. Tap Details
  3. In the Vitals section, tap the individual's name. 
  4. Next to the listed sex, tap Edit
  5. Tap the correct sex. 
  6. Enter a reason statement that explains why the information is correct. If the existing reasoning is applicable, leave the existing explanation, and add your own comments. 
  7. Tap Save

Steps (Family Tree Lite)

  1. Navigate to the Person page of the individual for whom you want to correct the sex. 
  2. Tap the current sex, and click Edit
  3. Tap the correct sex. 
  4. Enter a reason statement that explains why the information is correct. If the existing reasoning is applicable, leave the existing explanation, and add your own comments. 
  5. Tap Save.
