How do I correct a person tag placed in the wrong spot in a memory?

You can add a photo from the Memories tab of an individual. The system automatically creates a person tag and links the photo to the person. The system does not know where to place the box on the photo. You can resize and reposition the box so that the correct part of the photo displays.

Steps (website)

  1. Find the photo in your gallery, and click to open it in the viewer.
  2. On the right, click the drop-down arrow beside the name of the tagged person.
  3. To resize and reposition the box, click Edit Tag.
  4. To reposition the tag, click in the box, and drag it to the desired position.
  5. To resize the box, click a corner, and drag it to the correct size.
  6. Click Save.

To avoid the problem, try adding photos from the Memories gallery rather than from a person page. Then add the relevant tags.

Steps (Family Tree or Memories mobile app)

In the Family Tree app, navigate to a person who is tagged in the memory and tap the Memories tab. Then continue with the steps.

  1. Tap the memory item.
  2. Tap the person icon.
  3. To reposition a tag, tap in the circle or box and drag it to the desired position.
  4. To resize the tag, tap the green dot and drag to the correct size.
  5. Tap Done.
