How do I clear an indexing field or record?

When you index, you can quickly remove all of the typed characters from a field or record. 

Steps

  1. To remove all of the characters from a field, put the cursor at the beginning of typed information, and press Delete. You can also put the cursor at the end of the name, and press Backspace until all of the letters are deleted.​​
  2. To remove all of the typed information from a record, use either of these methods:
    • Put the cursor anywhere in the record, and click Ctrl+Delete. A window is displayed asking if you want to delete the current record or all blank records.
    • In the task bar at the top of the screen, and click the Delete Record icon.
