Forwarding all email from FamilyHistoryMail to a personal email address

As a stake temple and family history consultant—Family History center, you can have all of the FamilySearch center FamilyHistoryMail email messages come to your personal email account. To enable the option, use the steps below.

  1. Sign in to FamilyHistoryMail.
  2. In the upper right portion of the FamilyHistoryMail page, click the cog wheel icon
  3. Click Settings.
  4. At the top of the Settings window, click Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
  5. Click Add a forwarding address.
  6. Enter a forwarding email address, and click Next. (You can only enter one address.)
  7. Click Proceed to confirm the email address.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Go to your personal email account and find an email from FamilyHistoryMail Team. 
  10. Click the certification link within 72 hours. If the link inside the email does not work, copy and paste the link into a new internet browser window.
  11. A message appears to confirm forwarding.
  12. Return to FamilyHistoryMail, and press F5 to refresh the settings pages. Click the circle to the left of the Forward a copy... option.
  13. Click in the box beside Keep FamilyHistoryMail's copy in the inbox so a stake consultant can see messages in FamilyHistoryMail after your release.
  14. Scroll to the bottom of the Settings window, and click Save Changes.

Important: It is important to continue to access the FamilyHistoryMail account directly at least monthly to keep the account active. Please sign in, and delete emails you no longer need.

Note: In order to keep your personal email address private, remember not to reply to emails received in your personal email account that were forwarded from the center's mailbox. Instead, reply from within FamilyHistoryMail.
