Equipment in a FamilySearch center has been lost, stolen, or damaged

Share

Computers that have been stolen or damaged are covered for repair or replacement by the Church’s self-insurance program. The definition of a damaged computer does not include hardware that is worn out or fails during routine use. In this case, repair or replace the computer.

Treat a stolen or damaged computer or printer as an insurance loss. The Church provides a replacement computer for the FamilySearch center. Do not purchase a replacement computer locally.

To obtain a replacement computer, work with the high council member over physical facilities. He can ask the facilities manager to report the loss on a Church Property Insurance Program Loss Report form. The form is available from the facilities management office. After submitting the form, the facilities manager can contact FamilySearch to request a replacement.
