Connecting to Meetinghouse Internet (Liahona)

Share

To connect to the wireless internet connection in a meetinghouse, look for the wireless network (WiFi SSID): Liahona, and select it on your device. The password is alma3738
Wireless internet connections are available in most meetinghouses.

Important notes

  • Guests can connect their personal computers, handheld devices, or other equipment to a FamilySearch center internet connection if local priesthood and FamilySearch center leadership approve.
  • You cannot change the Liahona network wireless password. If you have concerns about unauthorized internet use on FamilySearch center computers using a wireless internet connection, a sign-in password can be set on the computers to prevent unauthorized use.
  • New meetinghouse internet sites should connect to the Liahona SSID with existing wireless clients and not the old Odyssey client. Please do not install the Odyssey client on any Church-owned computer.
  • FamilySearch centers can turn off the wireless adapters in desktop computers in the center. The requirement in FamilySearch centers in the United States and Europe is an ethernet cable connection. This means that you do not have to use a wireless connection if you have a working cabled one.

Physical Network Connections

FamilySearch center guests can connect to the physical network in centers with a LAN cable if there are ports available. Local priesthood or FamilySearch center leadership approval is needed to connect to the physical network.
