A book in the FamilySearch Catalog is not in the digital library

Share
An icon of a book symbolizes books in the FamilySearch Catalog, which may be digitized and available in the digital library.

Many books described in the FamilySearch Catalog are digitized and accessible online in the FamilySearch Digital Library. To go from the Catalog to the digital book, click the link in the Notes section of the Catalog entry. The link is labeled "To view a digital version of this item click here."

If a book is not available in our digital library, no link to the digital library appears. Here are a few suggestions for getting access to it in a different way:

  • Visit the FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States to view the physical copy.
  • Check OCLC WorldCat to see if another library has a copy. One of these libraries may participate in interlibrary loan or provide other services that can help you access the information in the book.
  • Obtain your own copy through a bookseller or other source. Many books in the FamilySearch Catalog are out of print or had limited publication. Be sure to also check with rare and used booksellers.
