Page Creation - Scenario 3
How to add internal and external links to your page.
Add an Internal Link:
Step 1: Scroll down to the Content section of the page. You will see four Rich Text modules.
Step 2: Click on the fourth Rich Text module labeled 4 Rich Text: Rich Text Module. The module will expand.
Step 3: Within the Rich Text editor box, click where the link will be placed.
Step 4: Click on the Link icon above. A new window will open.
Step 5: In the new window, click on the Link Text (Required) section and enter the name of the link as it will appear on the page.
Step 6: Click on the Link drop-down menu and select Internal.
- Note: An internal link is used to connect to content that is created within Brightspot. Using an internal link will maintain translations, so you should use them instead of external links whenever possible.
Step 7: Click on the Item (Required) section. A new window will open.
Step 8: Use the Search bar at the top of the new window to enter the number or name of the article to be linked.
Step 9: Within the Global Filters, click on Any Content Type and choose the type of content needed to link.
Step 10: Click on the desired article. The window will close.
Step 11: Click on the Advanced button.
Step 12: Click on the Target (Required) drop-down menu, and choose New Window/Tab. This will allow the link to be opened in a new page from the original page.
Step 13: Click on the Save & Close button. The link will appear on the page in Brightspot.
Step 14: Click the Floppy Disc icon next to the blue Workflow button at the top to save your work.
Add an External Link:
Step 1: Return to the fourth Rich Text module labeled 4 Rich Text: Rich Text Module.
Step 2: Within the Rich Text editor box, click where the link will be placed.
Step 3: Click on the Link icon. A new window will open.
Step 4: In the new window, click on the Link Text (Required) section and enter the name of the link as it will appear on the page.
Step 5: Click on the Link drop-down menu and select External.
- Note: An external link is used to connect to content that is created outside of Brightspot. Translations will not be maintained with external links, so it is recommended to use them only when connecting to content that is not created within Brightspot.
Step 6: Click on the URL (Required) section. Copy and paste the URL from the external website into this section.
Step 7: Click the Save & Close button. The link will appear on the page in Brightspot.
Step 8: Click the Floppy Disc icon next to the blue Workflow button at the top to save your work.
