Quick Start Guide for Epson V-600 Flatbed Scanner

1. On the right side of the scanner, use the power button to turn on the scanner. Wait for the blue light on the front of the scanner to stop flashing.

2. Insert your thumb drive.

3. To open the Epson program, double-click the blue Epson icon on the screen.

4. In the Setting Image Type field, set the following:

  • Resolution: select desired resolution
    • 300 dpi: adequate for preserving images digitally.
    • 600 dpi: good quality for printing images.
    • 720 dpi or higher: better quality for printing images.
Note: When higher dpi is selected, the image quality is better, however, the file size is also larger. Scanning time also increases and is much slower than a lower dpi scan.
  • Scanning Quality: High
  • Image Format: select desired format
    • JPG: medium, compressed files, good for sharing pictures.
    • TIFF: large, non-compressed files, good for archival preservation.
  • Folder: to select the D: drive, select Other.

9. If you are scanning multiple photos, click All.

10. When all pictures are framed to your liking, click Scan.

11. Repeat the process for each picture.

12. To ensure all pictures have saved to your thumb drive, check the contents of the D: drive.

13. Once scanning is complete, delete any images left on the computer, if needed.

14. If pictures were saved on the computer, save them to your thumb drive.
Note: Any images left on the computer must be moved to your thumb drive or deleted.
