In person & Online Consulting

We provide consulting without reservations at the center. Contact the center for more information or stop by during open hours. If you would like to set up an online consulting session, click the button below to learn how. These sessions will be with consultants at the FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City.

Research Languages & Expertise

Any of our staff can help you learn to do your own research, but we also have some volunteers who can help with certain areas. It is strongly suggested you call us to make an appointment to meet with any of these volunteers. We have expertise in Polish, Latin, Russian, and African-American research, and records from Germany, Poland, Ireland, Denmark, Italy, Mexico, New England, the US Midwest, 18th and 19th Century UK, and Sweden.

Many helpful resources are available through the computers at the center and include free use of subscription websites such as: • Ancestry • Fold3 • ArkivDigital • Geneanet • Findmypast • MyHeritage • The Genealogist • Irish Ancestors • British Newspaper Archive • NewspaperArchive • Newspapers.com • American Ancestors • 19th Century British Library Newspapers Additional specialized tools and collections—including Alexander Street Press (American Civil War), FamNet, Goldie May, Paper Trail, and Puzzilla (Premium)—are also available through the FamilySearch Center Portal.

Equipment at this Center: -8 Computers -1 Printer/copier/photo scanner (Lexmark MX632) -1 Microfilm reader (temporarily unavailable) -1 ShotBox for photographing documents, photos and 3-dimensional items You’re welcome to bring your own laptop, Chromebook, notebook, or MacBook (with Chrome installed) to the FamilySearch Center. Books & Microfilm

The Naperville FamilySearch Center maintains a collection of more than 1,100 microfilms, available for viewing by appointment. If you have questions about a particular film number, feel free to call or email us. Please note that our microfilm and book listings are an ongoing project created manually.
