Online & In-person Consulting
We provide consulting without reservations at the center. Contact the center for more information or stop by during open hours. If you would like to set up an online consulting session, click the button below to learn how. These sessions will be with consultants at the FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City.
Research Languages & Expertise
Any of our staff can help you learn to do your own research, but we also have volunteers who can help with certain areas. We have language expertise English and Spanish (by appointment). Let us know what you're working on—we're here to help!


Premium Websites
Many helpful resources are available through the computers at the center and include free use of subscription websites such as: • Ancestry • Fold3 • ArkivDigital • Geneanet • Findmypast • MyHeritage • The Genealogist • Irish Ancestors • British Newspaper Archive • NewspaperArchive • Newspapers.com • American Ancestors • 19th Century British Library Newspapers Additional specialized tools and collections—including Alexander Street Press (American Civil War), FamNet, Goldie May, Paper Trail, and Puzzilla (Premium)—are also available through the FamilySearch Center Portal.
Equipment Resources
Reservations are not required for our research computers and walk-ins are welcome. Reservations are required to use our digitization equipment. Book & Film Collection
We offer a wide collection of books and films on various genealogical topics and locations. Included in the film collections are..... -All but 8 Michigan county's Vital Records, -Ingham county Newspapers -Miscellaneous French Canadian-Quebec -Michigan-Wayne Co Federal Naturalization Petitions INDEX -Michigan Deed Index for several Michigan counties -As well as Probate packets and Deed Records
Group Visits
The Lansing FamilySearch Center is pleased and eager to offer the opportunity for individuals, organizations, youth and community groups, families, and others to schedule a Group Visit to our Center. Reservations are required for evening time slots or larger groups to ensure we have enough staff on hand to assist.
