During the month of January, the Family History Library will be hosting a number of free online family history classes as well as a Boy Scout genealogy merit badge workshop. These classes and workshops are designed to help individuals and families find their ancestors and teach important family history techniques. They are free to the public. Information about specific classes is listed below, as well as information on how to register for classes.
January 3: Metas genealógicas para 2015. This is a class for Spanish-speaking guests and starts at 1:00 p.m. Come to the library for this class, or take part in an online webinar by clicking on this link.
January 8 and January 22: Beginning Genealogy Research. Learn basic beginning genealogical research skills to help expand your own family tree. For more information and to join this Webinar, click on this link.
January 17: ¿He buscado aqui? El uso de notas y listas de Investigción. This class is for Spanish-speaking guests and starts at 1:00 p.m. Come to the library for this class, or take part in an online webinar by clicking on this link.
January 17: Boy Scout Genealogy Merit Badge Workshop. This workshop begins at 10:00 a.m. Register for this 90-minute class at least one week prior to the workshop to find out which merit badge requirements should be completed before attending. For registration information, call 1-801-240-4673.
January 26-30: England Research Series Webinars. Two webinars will be held each day, starting at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The British topics include: Online Websites, Maps and Gazetteers, England and Wales Census Records, England and Wales Civil Registration, Church of England Church Records, Nonconformist Church Records, Probate Records, Parish Chest Records, and Poor Law Records.
