Moving from LANDesk to Tivoli

Over the next few weeks we will be migrating away from LANDesk and moving toward Tivoli for our desktop management tool. All this means is that for those of you familiar with LANDesk or the LANDesk icons, you will now see a Tivoli icon.

This transition will be done in steps, and we hope that it will be seamless for you and your center. However, there may be some impact to the center computers. We appreciate your patience as we do this rollout. Listed below are two issues that you may want to be aware of.

Two issues that you may need to address are:

  • The new FHC Services Portal implementation requires that your systems be web-filtered—If you are unsure of the status of your systems, please use a web browser to open the www.gambling.com site. You should receive a message saying that site has been blocked. If your computer(s) are not filtered, please check the status of your Cisco PIX/ASA/881 device, and make sure your network is configured correctly to go through the Cisco device.
  • A minor setting adjustment may be required if your systems have Deep Freeze installed on them—Please make sure that the computers are configured to automatically reboot into “Maintenance Mode” each night for a few hours before shutting down. Then remember to leave the computers on when you leave the center. If you need assistance updating your Deep Freeze agent configuration, please call FamilySearch Support and ask to speak with a Deep Freeze expert.
