FamilySearch is pleased to announce a new online guide to tracing ancestors in the ceremonial County of Norfolk England. The guide has been published in the FamilySearch Research Wiki.
Features include articles on each of Norfolks's 725+ Anglican parishes loaded with descriptions of records available online at major websites Ancestry.co.uk, FamilyRelatives, FamilySearch.org, FindMyPast.co.uk, FreeReg, TheGenealogist.co.uk, Google Books, Internet Archive, Joiner's Marriage Index, Norfolk Transcription Archive, Parish Register Transcription Society, and Tinstaafl Transcripts.
Most Norfolk parish registers are now available online, if you know where to look for them. Genealogists will find tables describing where to find parish registers online, maps to pinpoint places Cornish ancestors lived, and learn how to find and use major Norfolk archives and libraries, such as the Norfolk Record Office, The National Archives, and the Society of Genealogists Library.
TipIf you're having a difficult time remembering how to get back to your parish's guide, try Google. Google the name of your ancestor's parish + genealogy or parish registers, etc. and you should see FamilySearch's guide appear as one of the top results.
