RootsTech 2025 is coming up soon, and we are looking forward to hosting our annual Family Discovery Day on Saturday, 8 March 2025, during the conference.

Come and visit the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, and take part in a full day of free activities, games, and inspiration! Discover, connect, and experience the impact of family with your loved ones this year at Family Discovery Day.

Family Discovery Day is free for everyone, and no registration is needed to attend. Those hoping to attend the full RootsTech event, not just Family Discovery Day, should register at RootsTech.org.

If you cannot join us in person at Family Discovery Day 2025, participate online by tuning in to live-streamed events on the main stage.

Elder Neil L. Andersen's Family Discovery Day Message

Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles

Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and his wife, Sister Kathy Andersen, will attend Family Discovery Day on 8 March to share a message focused on accessing the promised blessings of the temple and family history.

Sister Andersen will share the story of her own ancestors and the blessing of sacrifice her family has experienced from attending the temple.

Elder Andersen will let us in on his journey back to his family's dairy farm, where fond memories of his formative years were made. Elder Andersen will draw a meaningful connection between his experiences on the farm and Family Discovery Day, including blessings of temple and family history work, while reminiscing on lessons he learned as a child.

A musical performance by The Piano Guys will follow Elder Andersen's message. Tune in at RootsTech.org to hear both the address and the performance.

Family Discovery Day 2025 Activities

In addition to Elder Andersen's address, an abundance of family-friendly activities and games are available for in-person attendees to enjoy. Activities will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (mountain time) on 8 March 2025, at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, during Family Discovery Day 2025.

These interactive experiences will leave your family with new discoveries about their own heritage and an eagerness to learn more about who they are. The experiences will also provide tools to help your family record the stories of their own lives. The day's activities will include games, art projects, and even balloon art and face painting!

Below is a list of just a few activities that will happen during Family Discovery Day at the Salt Palace Convention Center.
