A New Website for FamilySearch Indexing

FamilySearch indexing is getting a new website! This new site is a step toward improving your experience as an indexer or arbitrator and will help improve quality as we continue to serve an ever-increasing number of volunteers.

The new website will also set the groundwork for the future browser-based indexing tool (currently under development). The new website should be released later this summer.

The site will provide updated news, easy access to helpful tips and tricks, and project status updates. As the site is integrated with the new indexing experience, we will be able to consolidate project instructions and eventually provide tools for social interaction between members of the indexing community.

Keep in mind as you peek at the future indexing site that these images and descriptions are not yet final. However, they should give you a good idea of what you can expect. Also, while the images shown are in English, rest assured that the site will be available in all indexing languages.

We hope you enjoy this small preview of what’s ahead.

The new home page—This main landing page will make it a snap to quickly find what you’re looking for, whether that is to get help, find a project, or see what’s new with indexing.

The new projects page—This page will make it easier for you to find and learn more about the projects you want to help index.

The news page—Wondering what’s new with indexing? This page will keep you up-to-date with the latest training articles, newsletters, and other stories about indexing.
