Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Lockes (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from England (especially the Isle of Wight), Germany, Holland, Ireland, Scotland and Sweden. One early ancestor was John Loch (1684-1756), who married Margaret, the daughter of William Menzies of Gladstone. John and Margaret's children were William, Isobel, Margaret, James, and Mary. William's son was James of Rachan and Herdmanshiels. This James married Margaret, the daughter of James Loch of Drylaw. This newsletter is not limited to descendants of these families, but includes a variety of Locke ancestors and their descendants. Some immigrated to Barbados (West Indies), and in Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia in the 1600's. In the 1700's, some settled in Nova Scotia (Canada), and in Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Vermont, and West Virginia. During the 1800's, some moved to Ontario and Prince Edward Island (Canada), Australia, and to Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Later descendants also lived in Alberta and British Columbia (Canada), England, Saudi Arabia, and in Arizona, Florida, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, and elsewhere. Some have American Indian bloodlines. Some slaves' names are mentioned.

Quarterly, published in February, May, August, and November, with only three issues in vol. 3 (1981) and in vol. 5 (1983).

Vol. 2 no. 1 (Feb 1980) was misnumbered as vol. 2 no. 3; and vol. 9 no. 1 (Feb 1987) was misnumbered as vol. 10 no. 1; vol. 13 no. 2 (May 1991) was misnumbered as vol. 14 no. 2 (May 1991); and vol. 16 no. 1 (Feb 1994) was misnumbered as vol. 15 no. 1 (Feb 1994).
