Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and family history of the Simpson (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from England, Germany, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. Some Simpson were aligned with the Fraser Clan of Lovat from the Loch Ness area of Scotland. Many settled in Maryland, Massachusetts, and Virginia in the 1600s. In the 1700s, some settled in Quebec (Canada), and in Delaware, Georgia, Kentucky, New Jersey, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Some focus is on (but not limited to) the Simpson families who settled in the Upper Haw River Area in Guilford County and Rockingham County, North Carolina, and in the Haw River Area of Tennessee. During the 1800s, some moved to New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Ontario (Canada), and to Alabama, Arkansas, California, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, the Indian Territory of Oklahoma, Oregon, and West Virginia. Later descendants also lived in France, and in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Louisiana, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, Washington D.C., Washington, Wyoming, and elsewhere. Some names are given for black slaves. Subscription and other information is available on the Web site.

A cumulative index to vols. 1-4 of "Simpsons, gathering of a clan" and vols. 4-12 of "The Simpson clan" is available. A table of contents to volumes 1-5 (1985-1990) is posted the Web site. The editor also has available a cumulative index with more than 4600 entries, and more than 8500 page references to names and locations mentioned in the newsletters. This cumulative index is available in hard copy and on CD-ROM.

Vol. 6 issue 4 (spring 1991) was misnumbered as vol. 6 issue 3. Vol. 21 issue 1 (summer 2005) was followed by vol. 21 issue 3 (winter 2005/2006); the issue designated as vol. 21 issue 2 was probably never published.

  • Das Scannen des Mikrofiches ist erst für einen zukünftigen Zeitpunkt geplant.
  • Der Mikrofilm oder Mikrofiche wurde möglicherweise bereits gescannt, doch unterliegt er einer vertraglichen, datenschutzrechtlichen oder sonstigen Zugriffsbeschränkung. FamilySearch scheut keine Mühen, den Zugriff zu ermöglichen. Dies ist jedoch von den Entscheidungen der Dokumentenverwalter und den geltenden Gesetzen abhängig.
  • Möglicherweise musst du in einem FamilySearch Center oder in der FamilySearch Library sein, um auf Digitalaufnahmen von Mikrofilmen und Mikrofiches zugreifen zu können. Manche erfordern vielleicht auch, dass du bei deinem FamilySearch-Account angemeldet bist.
