Journal for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Acuff (and variant spellings) families who probably came from Germany, Scotland, Sweden, and Wales. Some settled in Delaware and in Virginia during the 1600's. In the 1700's, some lived in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. Some focus is on (but not limited to) descendants of John Acuff and his wife Sarah,, or Sallie who lived in Virginia, moved to North Carolina, and in received a land grant in Hawkins County, Tennessee in 1792. Acuffs also lived in Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Missouri during the 1800's. Later descendants and relatives also lived in California, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wyoming and elsewhere. Some have Cherokee Indian bloodlines through the Holt related family line.
