Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Brooks (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from England, France, Ireland, Prussia, Scotland, and Wales. Some allied families came from Germany and Sweden. Some Brooks ancestors immigrated to Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, North Dakota, South Carolina, and Virginia in the 1600s. In the 1700s, some settled in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Quebec (Canada), Jamaica (West Indies), and in Delaware, Kentucky, Maine, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Vermont. During the 1800s, some moved to Australia, and to Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Texas, Washington D.C., West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Later descendants and relatives also lived Brazil, Mexico, Thailand, South Africa, and in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Indiana, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Washington, Wyoming, and elsewhere. Some were African American slaves who adopted the surname Brooks, or variations of the name. Some information is about orphans adopted into the Brooks family, and Brooks family members who were orphaned.
