Microfilm made of 1 pedigree chart (86 x 60 cm.) and bibliography of sources (location and sources of the references; 7 leaves) compiled in 1990 by W. B. Pollard IV, Cambridge, England.
"This pedigree differs from all previous ones in the Barbados descent. It is the result of (1) a re-examination of the will of John Pollard (d.1744) and (2) the recent discovery of some early deeds by Mr. Ronnie Hughes of Barbados. Earlier Pollard pedigrees were based on that of the Pollard-Lowsley family. This claimed a link with the Pollards of Devon which has never been substantiated and its Barbados descent is largely conjectural. Pollard pedigrees derived from it appeared in Burke's 'Landed Gentry' 1952 p. 2837 and in the Journal of the Barbados Museum and Historical Soc. 1958, vol. XXV, no. 2, pp. 54-74. Apart from the Barbados descent, the latter which was written by my father (W.B.P.III) is extremely reliable and most of the present pedigree is based on it. The Australian section was compiled by Mrs. Beatrice McIntyre (née Pollard) who re-established their lost connection with the rest of the family in 1984. The first eight generations detailed the Pollard family in Barbados, and some who immigrated from Barbados to British Guiana (now Guyana). Thereafter the next generations split and immigrated to various geographic localities: four generations were in the United Kingdom, six generations were in Australia, and three generations were in California and elsewhere in the United States. The pedigree chart has a map of the island of Barbados, showing geographic localities of the various parishes; other maps (lower on the pedigree chart) shows parts of British Guiana (now Guyana). The bibliographic listing ("sources of reference") includes listings of births, marriages, deaths, etc. from later parish registers in Barbados (the earliest parish registers no longer exist).
