The registers are in chronological order.

The marriage certificates/licenses are in order by certificate/license numbers which are also found in the indexes and many of the registers. The certificate/licenses are not in good chronological order, however. Use the dates associated with them in the film notes as a guide only ("ca." is an abbreviation of the word circa which means approximately). Use the indexes to find the license number of the person you are looking for before looking at the certificate/licenses.

If a name is not found in the indexes it still might be in the registers, especially if it is with one of the unnumbered marriages.

Please note that the certificate/license numbers start over again at "1" with film #1477043, item 2 (ca. 1877).

Indexes include license numbers which can be used to access the certificates/licenses & sometimes book & page numbers which can be used to access the registers (dates are useful to finding names in the registers too). Though indexes may be labeled as registers, consider them indexes.
