Contains church records from Skt. Johannes parish in Copenhagen city. Skt. Johannes was organized in 1861 from parts of Vor Frue and Trinitatis parishes. In the course of time, several parishes have been separated from Skt. Johannes - 1874 Skt Stefans parish, 1878 Skt. Jacobs parish, 1890 Helligkors parish, 1896 Skt. Andreas parish, 1900 Nazaret parish and 1905 Blågårds parish.
Sognet oprettedes i h.t. kgl. res. af 31. maj 1861 af dele af Vor Frue og Trinitatis sogne, og i h.t. bkg. af 30. maj 1877 henlagdes yderligere dele af disse sogne til Skt. Johannes sogn. Fra Skt. Johannes sogn er i tidens løb udskilt dele af sognet til nye sogne, Således 1874 og 1876 til Skt. Stefans sogn, 1878 til Skt. Jakobs sogn, 1890 til Helligkors sogn, 1896 til Skt. Andreas sogn, 1900 til Nazaret sogn, 1905 til Blågårds sogn og 1956 henlagdes en del af sognet til Aldersro sogn.
