John Airy was born in 1802 at Philadelphia, the son of John (ca. 1778- 1802) and Mary Jones Airy. He married Keziah Jones, daughter of George and Lydia Hobson Jones, at Eaton, Ohio, in 1824. They had eleven children, born 1825-1851, in Ohio and Indiana. The family moved to Ohio in 1855. He died at Haddam, Kansas, in 1887. Descendants lived in Iowa, Kansas, and elsewhere.
John M. Airy (1836-1925) was born in Monravia, Morgan County, Indiana, son of John and Keziah Jones Airy. He served with the Iowa Infantry Volunteers during the Civil War. He married 1) Clara Amelia Brown, daughter of Robert Brown in 1868. They had one son. He married 2) Melvina Crane, daughter of Oliver and Sophia Davis Crane, in 1872. They had six children. He died at Marshalltown, Iowa.
