Durante l'epoca Napoleonica (1805-1815) il nome del comune fu Oriano con Pedergnaga e Trignano. Nel 1816 il toponimo cambiò in Oriano e furono disaggregati dal territorio di Oriano Pedergnaga con Trignano, che divennero insieme un comune autonomo. Nel 1927 Oriano venne aggregato al comune di Pedergnaga, ed il toponimo fu cambiato in Pedergnaga Oriano. Dal 1964 è conosciuto San Paolo. Sono compresi nei registri dal 1814-1815 sono quelli da Cremezzano, Scarpizzolo e Padernello con Motella.
During the Napoleonic era (1805-1815) the name of the town was Oriano con Pedergnaga e Trignano. In 1816 the name changed to Oriano. At that time Pedergnaga and Trignano were detached from Oriano and together became and autonomous community. In1927 Oriano became a hamlet of the town of Pedergnaga and another name change was made to Pedergnaga Oriano. It has been known as San Paolo since 1964. Records from 1814-1815 include those of Cremezzano, Scarpizzolo and Padernello con Motella.
