Great blessings come from providing temple ordinances for our kindred dead. What follows are important updates to some of the tools, resources, and processes being developed to hasten this important, eternal work.

We hope these adjustments will make it simpler and easier for Church members to participate in family history and temple service, as well as share the joy that comes from serving ancestors.

  1. Please tell people to verify the person in familysearch.org to see if duplicates or more sources are available
and to generally check the name and family over before printing the cards. I have had several that needed more
information and a few that needed major corrections yet were given in ordinances ready.

    1. Many years ago when I was doing my family history workI found that I had been duplicated several times. The church had already done some too. I would like to know more about that.

  2. I would like to share my family cards in such a way that the details of the person I send my family cards to, will appear on the those cards, rather than my name and address. Just like when you click on the ordinance ready cards, if you haven’t your own ancestors who are ready you will be issued with those on the temple file but your name and address will appear on those cards as if it’s your family. I don’t want to share my family cards with temple file, but with a specific person I know

    1. When you share an ordinance with a family member or friend, the system sends the reservation to the person and it will then be in their reservation list instead of yours. When they print the card it will have their submitter information on the card.

  3. thank you so much for the new Ordinance ready program my grand children and me love it. thank you and the temple is so busy

  4. THE TEMPEL SPIRITUL-WONDER.
ILOVE THE TEMPEL THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS .MAY GETUIGE MEET NAM VAN JESUS CHERIST AMEN.

  5. I have done family history research for sometime. Temple ordinance Ready is amazing. I have several challenge with this new feature: 1. Accuracy of the individual date and place of event and could cause duplicate ordinance work being done for an individual, 2. In familytree when we are striving to make the records correct as we can, this can cause hours of determining, merging and deleting individuals.

  6. Im a director of a FH Centre.
Came north to visit my fanily in Queensland
and discovered they are using “Take A Name” app to reserve a name.
First time I have heard of it What should we be using

  7. To share baptismal ordinance work to my grandchildren states away I have to share the whole card. Is there a way to share with out the whole card? Right now I mail them after printing them but that is not always convenient.

  8. How do you verify a Ordinance Ready Ordinance is not a duplicate? From my phone I tried to check for duplicates. I was unable to accomplish this on my phone. Also on the app I tried to go in through safari to the regular site because I wanted not only check for duplicates to merge, but I also could update my email. It kept forcing me back to the app.

  10. I have Concerns of infringement. Please ensure that there is proper sourcing. it is so essential to avoid duplication to save time spent not only in preparation but doing the ordinances.

  12. I am a Family History Centre Director.. Duplication is the big problem with lack of information. Youth add in there relative as Tom Jones and parents have his as Thomas Allen Jones, therefore work gets done on both. Parents need to speak with their children about their Ancestors a lot more. More coordination between parents and children when finding a name to take to the Temple.
