  1. I am so grateful for indexing and the wonderful people who do indexing! I am now able to find the family members I collected back in the early 80’s that didn’t have parent’s names or if they did they didn’t say where they were from. All I had was names, birthdates and sometimes spouse’s names – sometimes not spouses names but just the date they got married. It has been one miracle after another putting these families together. I am having wonderful success right now with a 41 page document copied from a family bible and a family letter in 1889! When I was an indexing coordinator when the program just started out and for several years after that, I again heard of miracles that touched my heart. One I especially remember is a man living in West Jordan who needed his birth record for citizenship purposes. He was elderly and every time he contacted his government, they said they couldn’t find one for him. He indexed thousands of records for his country for a long time. He was excited to report to our group one day after several months that he had been blessed by a miracle one day and had found his own birth record. We had several miracles happen among our indexers that they felt had occurred because of the work they were doing. My daughter who has a very busy schedule and a large family finds opportunities to index. She has done indexing for several years now.

  2. I’m Australian so I looked at the list of Australian records you’ve posted re added records.
I couldn’t see them till I stopped looking at the list of countries and looked at the Record Collection Titles. Did you know you have the Australian ones listed with the country as Argentina?

Is that a typographical error or have they been filed under the wrong country?

  3. This always amazes me!! What a variety of records from all over the world. Thank you for making this possible.
    Diane

  4. Note that a number of the indexed location entries for “United States Rosters of Revolutionary War Soldiers and Sailors, 1775-1783” are incorrect. Examples include Lancaster County Pa becoming “Lancaster, Latimer, Oklahoma, United States” and Northhamton County Pa becoming “Northampton, Burlington, New Jersey, United States”. I would say about 1/3 are incorrect altogether. And there are some identical duplicate entries to watch out for. The records are quite usable though, you just need to be cautious about searching on location. Not to be critical of the Indexers. They have a Really hard job to do.
